  • Community Meeting: Status Update- Mimico 2020 Revitalization Study

    Toronto City Planning Division invites you to attend a Community Meeting regarding the status of "Mimico 2020", an ongoing revitalization initiative for the Mimico-By-The-Lake community.The purpose of this meeting is to provide a status update, and to hear from you at this critical juncture, prior to proceeding with a draft final policy framework.

  • Mimico 20/20 Development - Community Meeting - Debriefing Session

    There will be a debriefing meeting following the Mimico 20/20 Development Community Meeting, held on November 15th. Please join us at Wesley Mimico United Church (2 Station Rd) on Tuesday November 22nd at 6:30 pm to discuss the issues raised at the meeting and any other relevant information.

  • 'Mimico 20/20' plan aims to rethink, open up lakefront community

    Etobicoke-York Community Council yesterday passed a plan called "Mimico 20/20," an ambitious project to rethink the community of Mimico, especially the area that fronts Lake Ontario. A number of apartment towers south of Lake Shore Boulevard West currently create a bleak and uninviting shoreline; the lakefront features the buildings' parking lots. The City of Toronto hired four consultants to lead a "design charette" for a rethink of the area.

  • Request for Proposals - Call Document Summary

     

    The City of Toronto has put out a Request for Proposals regarding Mimico 20/20.

    The work will expand upon work already completed, and provide a detailed implementation strategy for the Revitalization Action Plan ( September, 2009 ) and the Mimico-by-the-Lake Implementation Action Memo ( September 23, 2009 ) both prepared by Urban Strategies Inc., IBI Group, E.R.A. Architects Inc., Focus Consulting Inc. and McCarthy Tetrault.

    This project should identify appropriate funding strategies, mechanisms, tools and public or private actions necessary to implement the Action Plan and Memo. 

    City Planning looks forward to the continuation of a high degree of public participation in this project. Planning staff has maintained an interested party’s distribution list and an on-line presence for the project.
